SE Washington Inter-Agency Team takes command of Barstow Road Fire

WALLA WALLA – At 2 p.m. Monday, the Southeast Washington Incident Management Team took command of the Barstow Road Fire, which is burning about 12 miles north-northwest of Prescott. The fire, which is burning in brush and grass, started at 5:41 p.m. Sunday.

As of 5 p.m. Monday, the fire’s estimated size is 1,500 acres with no containment. There are no damaged structures, and the cause of the fire is undetermined.

No evacuation orders are in place. Air quality is good, however, communities near the Barstow Road Fire could potentially see air quality worsen as the fire and wind conditions change.

An estimated 110 personnel from around the state of Washington are currently working on the fire. On Monday, crews worked to engage in fire suppression as well as reinforce and secure lines around the fire perimeter.
