We Did It! Elgin Museum Reaches Phase I Fundraising Goal

ELGIN – (Release from the Elgin Museum and Historical Society) The Elgin Museum and Historical Society is thrilled to announce the successful completion of Phase I of its capital campaign! Thanks to the overwhelming support of our community, visitors, and donors over the past 60 days, we have officially reached our $100,000 fundraising goal.

This milestone paves the way for the Museum’s long-anticipated move into its new home at the historic US Bank building, located at 800 Alder Street in downtown Elgin. The move is scheduled to be completed by Fall 2025.

“We couldn’t have done it without the overwhelmingly generous support of the Elgin community! Thank you!” said the Museum Board. “The support we felt at Riverfest and throughout this campaign reminds us just how much Elgin values its heritage.  We’re honored to continue preserving and sharing the stories that make our town special.”

The new location will allow for expanded exhibits, better accessibility, and exciting new programming—all while honoring the unique history of the building itself.

The Museum invites the public to stay tuned for updates, moving progress, sneak peeks,  and upcoming volunteer opportunities.
