BAKER CITY — The Oregon Department of Corrections (DOC) has announced the opening of a new call center at Powder River Correctional Facility (PRCF) in Baker City. The Oregon Corrections Enterprises (OCE) Call Center is a collaborative effort between the OCE and the DOC. It will expand the existing call center program and offer Adults in Custody work opportunities to develop real-world skills.

Oregon Corrections Enterprises wrote, “One special guest in attendance was Jason Bown, a former AIC who worked in the OCE Call Center at Snake River Correctional Institution (SRCI). After his release, Jason was hired by one of our call center partners he worked with during his time in the program—and years later, he’s still with them working as an Operations Manager and getting the two trainers up and ready at the new call center. His story is a powerful example of how OCE programs can open doors to lasting employment and a successful reentry.”

Powder River Correctional Facility is a minimum-security prison.
