Celebrating Life

DeWayne Sean McClure, 59, of Baker City, Oregon, left this earth to be with our God on Tuesday, April 15th, 2025. Sean was born on March 7, 1966, in Bridgeport, Texas, and spent his childhood in Decatur, Texas, traversing the creeks and catching crawdads with his sisters. He and his family then moved to Eagle Creek, Oregon, where he spent time fishing in the river that ran behind the family home, where he caught his first Salmon. He and his family eventually made their home in Haines, Oregon, where Sean spent his free time fishing at the local ponds and spending time with friends. Sean graduated from Baker High School in 1984 and served 4 years in the U.S. Navy. He returned to Baker, where he settled down and, to his greatest joy, had three wonderful children. Sean spent a good deal of his life in Baker City, enjoying his family, friends, working, and loving life. In his later years, he made his home in Fairbanks, Alaska, to be near his children. Sean spent his time in Alaska with his kids, enjoying the great outdoors with his faithful dog Jesse, competing in dart tournaments with friends, and being involved in the Fairbanks Ice Dogs Hockey club. Sean then moved to Richland, Washington, to be closer to his family, where he passed away. Sean was a remarkable man with a loving and caring heart who had a strong faith in God. His greatest love on this earth was his children, his family, and his dog Benny. Sean had a great love and soft spot for animals, treating each of his pets as valuable family members. Sean also loved singing and had a knack for breaking out in song, with his favorite tune being โ€œDonโ€™t Stop Believingโ€ by Journey. He was an avid fisherman and never gave up the chance to fish; he particularly enjoyed the Snake River and the peace that nature provides from the hustle and bustle of life. Sean was an amazing father who cherished his children and never shied away from speaking of how proud he was of each of them and how much he loved them. Sean shared a friendly smile to those that he met and was quick to lend a listening ear to those that were going through hard times. He touched the lives of those he loved with his generous heart, optimism, his faith in God, and his words of wisdom. Sean was more than just a father, a grandfather, a son, a brother, or uncle; above all, he was a friend. He was loyal and caring to so many, and his life will forever be cherished by those he left behind. Sean is survived by his daughter Brittani McClure VanCour, her husband Rob VanCour and their two children Joella VanCour and Skylar VanCour, his daughter Courtney McClure Moyers, her husband Spencer Moyers and their four children Aiden Miranda, Noah Moyers, Maverick Moyers and Paxton Moyers, his son Christopher McClure and their brother Jordan Draze who he thought of as his own son, his father Jerry McClure and his wife Patty McClure, his mother Barbara McClure Renz and her husband Richard Renz, his sister Kim McClure Ehlert her husband Dean Ehlert and their daughter Samantha Dunn her husband Hunter Dunn and their daughter Aspen Dunn, his sister Cheryl McClure Tuning her husband Terry Tuning and their children Dakota Seal and Corbin Tuning.
