Transient faces new charges of breaking into Walla Walla City Hall

WALLA WALLA – A transient arrested last week by the Walla Walla Police Department for alleged burglary at Comprehensive Healthcare’s Walla Walla Center faces additional charges for allegedly breaking into Walla Walla City Hall last month.

Lucas Chad Warneka, 45, allegedly used force to break into the city hall building and set up camp for about a week in an area not regularly used by employees. He was arrested for that crime on February 13 and booked for burglary, malicious mischief, and theft. He’s accused of causing $1,900 dollars in damage to a city hall door he forced open.

As for the incident at Comprehensive Healthcare, Warneka is accused of causing $3,700 by allegedly causing extensive damage to the interior of the building.

Charges against Warneka have been filed by the state.
