WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has formally charged Nathanael James Young, 44, of Estacada with first-degree organized retail theft following his February 25 arrest at the Walmart in College Place.
During a hearing Monday in Walla Walla County Superior Court, Young pleaded not guilty to the new charges, as well as previously filed charges of drug possession with the intent to deliver methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl.
Following his arrest last month, prosecutors said Young is suspected of stealing more than $150,000 in jewelry from Walmart stores across Washington and Oregon, including Hermiston and Hood River.
Young’s trial is set to begin April 28.
