ONTARIO — The Ontario Police Department have issued a reminder to the public to stay vigilant against scammers and imposters who are looking to take your money and personal information. The department said to remember that, “…law enforcement agencies DO NOT call you and tell you that you have warrants…”

According to the department, the scammers are posing as law enforcement officials and informing people they have warrants and to pay the fines over the phone or by purchasing gift cards. The police say not to fall for it. Law enforcement will contact you in person if there is an issue with a warrant.
