JOSEPH – (Release from the Josephy Center for Arts and Culture) Horizon Lines, an exciting new art exhibit exploring both the literal and metaphorical concept of horizons, will open its doors at the Josephy Center for Arts and Culture on February 28 from 7-9 PM with a special reception. The exhibit will run through April 5, offering visitors an opportunity to experience a wide range of artistic interpretations surrounding the theme of boundaries, possibilities, and the unknown.

The exhibit, curated and judged by multimedia artist and graphic designer Silje Harlander, features 59 talented artists and showcases an impressive collection of 106 artworks.  From sweeping landscapes to deeply personal journeys, abstract interpretations to visions of the future—Horizon Lines highlights the distance between the known and unknown, and the interaction between perception and what lies beyond.

Curator’s Bio:

Silje Harlander is a multimedia artist, graphic designer, and former river guide who grew up in Wallowa County. A strong advocate for women and nonbinary individuals in creative spaces, she owns and operates Steep Creek Studio. Harlander’s own work is inspired by the rugged beauty of her surroundings and the resilience of those she calls community.

Visit Horizon Lines to experience the intersection of nature, perception, and possibility through the eyes of some of the region’s most talented artists. This exhibit is a rare opportunity to explore diverse expressions of what it means to be on the edge of something new—whether it be personal, physical, or philosophical.
