EOCIL needs volunteers if warming shelter opens in Ontario

ONTARIO — The Eastern Oregon Center for Independent Living is reaching out to the community for volunteers to help operate an overnight warming shelter in case the nasty weather prompts one to open at the Malheur County Fairgrounds.

EOCIL reports that in the event that the warming shelter opens up, volunteers would serve 12-hour shifts from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Those interested can contact Griselda Paredes (541-709-1723; griseldaparedes@eocil.org) and Diana Mora (541-709-1441; diana.mora@eocil.org) at EOCIL to sign up
