BOARDMAN – Oversized shipments along Eastern Oregon highways starting Jan. 29 are still not approved by the Oregon Department of Transportation. ODOT said it has not given its seal of approval for the proposal of three months of the shipments from Boardman to Idaho.
“ODOT has not yet approved the starting date and the official routes,” ODOT officials wrote. “We are working with Omega Morgan to finalize details, including plans for traffic control and how to address overhead obstacles such as traffic signals and power lines.”
The communication from ODOT stated that approval is anticipated after the requested information has been received and reviewed and the department’s concerns are addressed. Further it stated the duration of the moves will depend on the approved start date, weather conditions, and production rate.
Omega Martin has stated the loads will travel overnight on routes that include Highway 395, Highway 26, and Highway 201. The company provides heavy hauling and rigging services. Omega Morgan has several locations including offices in Hillsboro and Boise.
