ELGIN – The Elgin Rural Fire Protection District and Imbler Rural Fire Department responded to a reported RV fire along Alder Street in Elgin on Sunday Morning. According to Elgin Fire Chief Kevin Silvernail, the fire initially started inside an RV on the property at around 7:30 a.m. (which was reported by the homeowner) before quickly spreading to an adjacent RV. Six firefighters from Elgin and four from Imbler were able to knock down the fire after roughly an hour, though full mop up of the scene took around four hours.
Both RVs were completely destroyed in the fire. A pickup truck parked nearby also had its windshield broken due to the extreme heat. Thankfully, neither RV was occupied at the time and no bystanders or firefighters were injured. No cause has been determined as of the time of writing.
Chief Silvernail would like to thank the Imbler Rural Fire Department for their mutual aid.
