Snow biker killed in avalanche near Cascade, ID

CASCADE, ID – A snow biker has been killed in an avalanche accident over the weekend, northwest of the Idaho town of Cascade. Find what has been released on the accident so far, posted below:

Accident Summary
A motorized snowbiker was killed in an avalanche in the mountains northwest of Cascade, ID. A group of two snowbikers triggered an avalanche and one was caught and fully buried. The slide was reported to be relatively small, but the rider was carried into a terrain trap and buried deep in the debris. He was located with an avalanche transceiver and dug out of the debris, but did not survive. The accident occurred just south of the Payette Avalanche Center’s (PAC) forecast area. PAC forecasters plan to visit the site on Monday. We’ll provide more information when available.
