Sentencing set for WW man who pleaded guilty to child porn crimes

WALLA WALLA – Richard Eugene Price, 76, of Walla Walla pleaded guilty Thursday to amended charges of three counts of intentionally viewing child pornography over the internet in October 2023. He’s scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 6, 2025 in Walla Walla County Superior Court.
The Walla Walla Police Department arrested Price this past June following cyber tips made by Yahoo and Google.
When a search warrant was executed, Price admitted to detectives that he had possession of child sexual abuse materials on his electronic devices in his residence.
According to court documents, Price denied committing any offenses against children in real life. He stated that he liked to ride the bus and go to the mall in Tri-Cities to look at children and implied he fantasized about them. Price denied interacting with the children he saw in public and stated that it would be too tempting for him if he did. Price posted bond and was placed on house arrest under the state’s objection.
