PLYMOUTH – The Washington State Department of Transportation is starting a $14 million project to improve the Plymouth weigh station near the Interstate 82/State Route 14 interchange, north of the Oregon/Washington border.

The weigh station is currently closed, and the demolition is complete.

“All the buildings have been removed and work on the embankment has started,” WSDOT South Central Region Communications Manager Meagan Lott said.

Granite Construction of Yakima will build a new scale house and inspection building. Improvements include new scale pits and a weigh-in motion system.

The updated weigh station, which is a state-funded project, is scheduled to be completed and open by fall 2025.
