BAKER CITY — While Santa and his helpers are hard at work at the North Pole, a few locals are helping them take a load off by stepping up to make sure joy is spread to all Baker County children.

Student Leader Khloe Van Dyken, along with the Baker Middle School Leadership Team, have spearheaded the efforts around the Baker Middle School Teddy Bear Toss. On Wednesday, December 11th, the Teddy Bear Toss will take place at halftime of the BMS Boys 8th grade basketball game. According to the Baker County Sheriff’s Office, folks who bring new or gently used stuffed animals to the game can toss them out on the court during halftime. The toys will then be collected and distributed to children throughout the season, including at the annual Shop with a Cop event.
