JOHN DAY – The Grant Union Prospector wrestlers will hit the road to Echo tomorrow, in both girls’ and boys’ matches. Several Grant Union wrestlers were on KJDY’s Coffee time Tuesday morning. Three-time GUHS Girls Wrestling State Champion Mallory Lusco said we can look forward to the home tournament next month:

“Tomorrow morning we head over to Echo. We leave at 4 [a.m.]. Our home tournament is January 24th, and this year, we are hosting the Burns-Crane Duals on February 3rd as well.”

In addition to state trophies, Two-time Boys’ Wrestling State Champion Taylor Parsons shared a few things he takes home with him at the end of each wrestling season:

“At the end of the season, once we’re done with our conditioning and everything, I always feel super accomplished—because, obviously, physically it is hard, but mentally, wrestling is a very tough sport. At the end of the season, you always feel very accomplished.”
