WALLA WALLA – Jesse Cantu DeLarosa, 58, of Walla Walla was sentenced Monday afternoon to four years and six months in prison in Walla Walla County Superior Court. He was arrested in the summer of 2022 in Brownsville, Texas, and extradited back to Walla Walla County on charges of child molestation, intimidating a witness, and indecent exposure that occurred between 2004 and 2017 in Walla Walla County.
In October, he pleaded guilty to the charges against him.
During Monday’s sentencing hearing, two of DeLarosa’s family members shared their opinions of lack of evidence in this case.
Judge Brandon Johnson said he believed there was evidence DeLarosa committed these crimes, plus he said he agreed with the Department of Corrections’ pre-sentence investigation that stated through DeLarosa’s sexual abuse of minors, he caused potentially irreparable damage to not only his victims, but society at large.
Tamara Lynette DeLarosa, his wife, was sentenced in October to time served for tampering with a witness. She had previously pleaded guilty to that charge and was arrested with her husband in Brownsville, Texas, in the summer of 2022.
Both had lengthy court proceedings and violated their pretrial release.
