WALLA WALLA – Following two hours of argument Wednesday, John Allen Smith, 52, of College Place, who is the president of the Walla Walla area chapter of the Pagan’s Outlaw Motorcycle Club was sentenced to a year and one day in prison. The action took place in Walla Walla County Superior Court.

Smith was convicted in September on two counts of felony second-degree assault. His conviction stemmed from an armed robbery at the Walla Walla PetSmart in March 2023. During the altercation, the Walla Walla Police Department said Smith threatened and pointed what appeared to be a firearm at two employees of the pet store.

Judge Scott Wolfram also denied Smith’s motions for a new trial and to stay out of custody while he appeals his convictions. Ten-year-term no-contact orders for the victims were also signed and restitution was reserved.
