COLLEGE PLACE – College Place Public Schools and the Walla Walla County Department of Public Health will host a Hidden in Plain Sight event on Thursday, Nov. 21 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at College Place High School, 1755 S. College Ave.

The event, which is for parents, includes a mock teenager bedroom exhibit and a presentation on the most current tobacco, drug and alcohol uses and misuses by teens today.

A mock bedroom displays various potential drug and alcohol paraphernalia, that is not easily recognizable, that could be indicators of teen use. Such items are often easily disguised by teens, hidden, but in plain sight.

The purpose of this event is to help parents recognize potential indicators and help them start conversations with their teen before it escalates to further use, addiction, legal troubles or possibly even death. Attendees must be 21 to attend. Free dinner and childcare are provided.
