BAKER COUNTY – A Fairview Oregon man found himself far from home and far over the legal limit this week. Derek Jon Bradshaw (46) of Fairview OR was arrested by Oregon State Police following a traffic stop just before 11:00 a.m. on November 11. The arrest specifically occurred on I-84 Westbound near milepost 307, just south of Baker City. The full OSP description of the arrest is as follows:
“An Oregon State Police Trooper conducted a traffic stop on a silver SUV for a speed violation. During the contact with the male driver, the Trooper became aware the driver did not have a license and the vehicle was not insured. The Trooper also observed signs of intoxication from the driver and alcoholic beverages in the vehicle. The Trooper later discovered the driver’s driving privileges were felony suspended.
The Trooper asked the driver to consent to SFSTs and the driver refused. The Trooper arrested the driver for DUI and DWS-Felony. A non- preference tow was requested for a SB-780 Impound and Roadrunner Towing responded for the vehicle. While at the jail, the driver refused to provide a breath sample, so the Trooper applied for and was granted a search warrant. The Trooper later obtained a breath, blood and urine sample under the warrant. The driver’s BAC was 0.17%.
