Town Gulch Fire closure area officially terminated, hazards remain

BAKER COUNTY – (Release from the U.S. Forest Service.) Forest Supervisor Shaun McKinney has terminated the “Town Gulch Emergency Area Closure”.

The prohibitions listed in Order No. 06-16-01-24-06 dated August 22, 2024, are now terminated. Although the closure order has been lifted, hazards are still present in the recently burned area. Signs have been installed warning of potential for falling trees and rocks, flash flooding and debris flows.
