Man’s backpack yields firearm, suspected drugs

MILTON-FREEWATER – The Milton-Freewater Police Department released new information Monday regarding the Oct. 11 arrest of Jaime Torres Flores Jr., 29. After he was taken into custody, detectives learned of a backpack allegedly discarded by Flores.

Upon execution of a search warrant, detectives found a ghost Glock-type pistol, multiple pills believed to be fentanyl, a powdery substance believed to be fentanyl, and brass knuckles inside the backpack.

Flores eluded officers during an attempted traffic stop and MFPD reports he he took off running. He was found hiding under a truck and was taken into custody on a warrant for a parole violation. He faces multiple charges including eluding, hit and run, and reckless driving.
