BAKER CITY – (Release from the Baker Relief Nursery) Parenting is hard even in the most ideal circumstances. When times get tough, the youngest children are the ones that suffer the most. At Baker Relief Nursery, it is their vision that all families are healthy, resilient, and children have what they need to be safe, confident, and able to learn. A significant piece in assisting children to feel safe is by providing diapers and wipes. At BRN, there is a diaper bank, food pantry, and clothing closet for all enrolled families to access when they are in need. This is included in the wraparound services that BRN offers to highly stressed families.
Helping to fill the diaper bank for the most vulnerable children in our area is Lew Bros. Tire Center, known for their commitment to the community. Unopened packages of diapers and wipes can be donated through the entire month of October. Items can be taken directly to Lew Bros. Tire Center located at 210 Bridge Street in Baker City, between the hours of 8:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday, and 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday.
“A key component to being a Relief Nursery is having the community show their support”, shares RaeAnn Butler, BRN Executive Director. “Community support is important for families to feel safe. It can help parents feel accepted, valued, and okay with getting help when they need it.” For more information on how you can help, contact RaeAnn at (541) 239-5054 or info@bakerreliefnursery.org.
