BAKER CITY – (Release from the Baker City Police Department) On October 17, 2024, the Baker City Police Department in cooperation with the Baker School District, Baker County Juvenile Department, and the Baker County District Attorney’s Office, conducted an investigation into a threat of physical harm against a staff member of the School District. The investigation revealed the threat was to be carried out within a school in the district.
As a result of the investigation, a 13-year-old female was taken into custody and transported by the Baker County Juvenile Department to juvenile detention on charges of Disorderly Conduct in the First Degree. At this time there is no further threat to any school district students or staff.
The Baker County Law Enforcement and school communities work in partnership on these kinds of threats, and we take each of them very seriously. It is our responsibility to aggressively and swiftly investigate these allegations and hold those responsible accountable to ensure the safety of our students and teaching staff.
