Bend middle school student brought a gun to school

BEND-a Pilot Butte Middle School student was arrested Monday after he brought a loaded gun to school.

A staff member was able to get the student out of the building and away from other students and staff.

The school’s resource office confiscated the gun and took the student into custody. Officers are trying to determine how the student got a hold of the weapon.

The student was taken to the Deschutes County Juvenile Detention Facility.
