WALLA WALLA – A motion to dismiss charges against John Bill Jones, 54, has been denied after he was arrested Sept. 6 for vehicular theft and assault following an incident at the Refresco Bottling Plant in Walla Walla. The ruling was handed down at Walla Walla County Superior Court this week.
Jones has filed motions for a competency evaluation in that case, plus another case where he’s accused of burglary, theft of a motor vehicle and vehicle prowling at Cutting Edge Plumbing and Mechanical on North 12th Avenue three days prior to the incident at Refresco.
Walla Walla County Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney April King said Jones’ motions will delay the trial dates for both of his cases.
