DAYTON, Washington – The Columbia County Parks and Recreation District will ask voters to support a levy on the upcoming Nov. 5 ballot.

If passed, the levy would provide the district with an annual $200,000 budget to fund the district and begin the process of reopening the community pool in Dayton.

The approximate levy rate would not exceed 20 cents per $1,000 of assessed valuation for the limited purpose of acquiring, maintaining and day to day operation of the pool.

The pool facility has been closed since the end of the 2017 season. An architectural firm specializing in aquatic facilities performed a visual assessment in August 2018 and recognized the pool facility had reached the end of its useful life.
