NAVAL AIR STATION WHIDBEY ISLAND, Wash. – Multiple search and rescue assets have been launched from Naval Air Station Whidbey Island to locate two crew members of an EA-18G Growler that reportedly crashed east of Mount Rainier Tuesday afternoon and to examine the crash site.
The military jet crashed at 3:23 p.m. during a routine training flight. As of 7 p.m. Tuesday, the status of the two crew members remained unknown. Their names will be released later in accordance with Navy policy.
The cause of the crash is under investigation. More information will be released as it becomes available.
