WALLA WALLA – The city of Walla Walla is seeking input from residents who frequently navigate South Ninth Avenue to assist in identifying the bicyclist- and pedestrian-related challenges along that corridor.

The segment of Ninth Avenue included in this study is from Rose Street at the northern end to Orchard Street at the southern end. Ninth Avenue is a five-lane arterial with a center turn lane, continuous sidewalks, and no bicycle lanes.

The goal of this study is to identify bicyclist- and pedestrian-related safety issues, develop a toolbox of pedestrian and bicycle safety solutions, and provide solution concepts at locations where safety enhancements are desirable.

The South Ninth Avenue Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Study Virtual Open House is available through Oct. 22, 2024.
