PENDLETON – Pendleton police officers responded to a vacant apartment in the 600 block of Southeast Dorion Avenue Tuesday at 10:20 a.m. The property owner reported an unknown man was inside the apartment sleeping and he didn’t have permission to be on the property.

“On arrival, officers located Skyler Lee Kendrick, a 29-year-old Pendleton resident asleep in the vacant apartment,” Chief Chuck Byram stated.

The officers woke Kendrick up and arrested him for trespassing. A search of his person prompted more charges. Byram said the officers found drug paraphernalia on his person as well as a knife that was constructed in a way that made it illegal for convicted felons to possess and/or conceal.

The felony charges against the suspect are being a felon in possession of a weapon, first-degree burglary, and unlawful possession of methamphetamine. He also faces misdemeanor charges of carrying a concealed weapon, two counts of first-degree criminal trespass, and possession of a controlled substance.
