JOHN DAY – Grant County Education Service District Superintendent Robert Waltenburg reminded Coffee Time listeners on Friday, that school districts all throughout Grant County are in strong need of substitute teachers. He said if you have a 4-year degree and are interested, contact the ESD. There are also opportunities for folks without a degree who already work for thew school:

“If you are currently working in a district as a ParaPro, you don’t have a four year degree, but you’re a ParaPro and you can show that you work with kids; TSPC—the Oregon Teachers Standards Practices Commission, the licensing agency—they have an avenue for you to actually substitute teach. It’s called a District Substitute License.”

Contact the Grant County ESD for more information at (541) 575-1349.
