PENDLETON – Construction stopped for Round-Up week on the Blue Mountain Community College Equine Center. College President Mark Browning said it was a planned event.

“We’re on schedule and we’ll pick back up next week and get her rolling again,” he said. “We’re still on target for a mid-November finish.”

Browning said the facility which will eventually serve as an indoor rodeo arena for the BMCC team is now serving as a contestants’ parking lot.

“I think there were cowboys and trailers waiting to get in as soon as the dust settled,” he said. “We’re happy to be able to work with everybody so we can utilize that parking.”

Browning said that the college does plan an open house for the facility. Further details will be released closer to the completion date.
