La Grande Community Blood Draw begins September 17 as national blood shortage continues

LA GRANDE – For those looking to donate blood as summer turns to fall, the La Grande Community Blood Drive is slated for September 17 and 18. With the national blood shortage still ongoing as summer winds down, the American Red Cross is urging prospective donors to give blood if possible. As written by the American Red Cross in a recent press release:

“A steady increase in lifesaving blood products is vital to ensuring hospitals stay ready for any situation this fall. As National Preparedness Month continues, the Red Cross highlights the importance of having a strong supply of blood products already on hand for disasters and emergencies of all kinds and to meet the needs of patients every day.”

The schedule for the upcoming La Grande blood drive is as follows:

  • Tuesday September, 17
    • 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
    • Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
    • 1802 Gekeler Lane, La Grande.
  • Wednesday, September 18.
    • 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
    • Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
    • 1802 Gekeler Lane, La Grande.
