Grande Ronde Hospital Awarded 4-Star Rating from CMS

LA GRANDE – (Release from Grande Ronde Hospital) Grande Ronde Hospital (GRH) is proud to announce that it has been awarded a prestigious 4-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). This rating is a testament to our unwavering commitment to providing exceptional care to our patients and the community we serve.

The CMS star ratings are based on the results of the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey, a national, standardized survey that captures the experiences of patients regarding their hospital care. Patients are randomly selected to participate in the survey, which asks questions about key aspects of their care, including:

  • Communication with doctors and nurses
  • Responsiveness of hospital staff
  • Cleanliness and quietness of the hospital environment
  • Communication about medications
  • Discharge information and care transition
  • Overall rating of the hospital
  • Willingness to recommend the hospital to others

The 4-star rating places Grande Ronde Hospital among the top hospitals in Oregon for patient experience. In fact, only one hospital in the state achieved a 5-star rating, underscoring the significance of this recognition.

“We are honored to receive this 4-star rating from CMS,” said Jeremy Davis, President/CEO at Grande Ronde Hospital. “This achievement is a reflection of the dedication and hard work of our entire team, who are committed to providing the highest quality care to our patients. It also speaks volumes about the strong relationship we have with our community, who took the time to participate in the survey and share their positive experiences with us.”

The recognition is particularly meaningful given the challenges faced by rural healthcare providers. Grande Ronde Hospital’s ability to maintain such high standards of care and patient satisfaction sets it apart from other healthcare systems in the surrounding regions.  Many did not achieve the same level of engagement or support from their communities.

“As a rural hospital, we take great pride in the personalized care we provide to our patients, and our commitment to providing big city medicine with a hometown touch” added Davis. “This rating is a testament to the trust and confidence our patients have in us, and we will continue to strive for excellence in everything we do.”
