PENDLETON – The city of Pendleton is planning ahead for housing. Construction is already underway on properties for all income levels. Meanwhile, the Eastern Oregon Construction Marketplace is ready to help.
“The Construction Marketplace is a team effort between the city, RCDC (Round-Up City Development Corporation), BMCC (Blue Mountain Community College), and CTUIR (Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation),” Economic Development Director Steve Chrisman said. “We’re trying to get out in front of that and say if we don’t have them here, let’s make them.”
The marketplace is a small business incubator, accelerator, and trade school. It deals with construction skills like framing, drywalling, and excavating.
The incubator isn’t empty. Landwise Development is the first tenant for the marketplace.
