County could be in the market for a drone

UMATILLA COUNTY – The Umatilla County Board of Commissioners has a meeting set for 9 a.m. tomorrow (Wednesday). Topping the agenda is a request for an unmanned aircraft system.

The Umatilla County Weed Department is asking the board to approve the department issuing a request for proposals for the purchase of a drone. The department says they have up to $35,000 budgeted for the purchase.

Other items on the agenda include purchasing a used paint truck for the road department, applying for a transportation grant, and paying some bills for the Umatilla County Fair.
