Ski and Mountain Trauma Conference Scholarships Available from Saint Alphonsus

EASTERN OREGON – (Information from Saint Alphonsus) Life in the rural West is dependent on our first responders.

From EMTs to paramedics and ski patrol to smoke jumpers, these are expert teams trained to handle any situation in the remote wilderness and their training is ongoing.

Saint Alphonsus Health System is uniting these first responders and their love of wilderness medicine at this year’s Ski and Mountain Trauma Conference held November 6-8th in Sun Valley, Idaho.

At the event that sees 90% out-of-state attendees from the surrounding area including Montana, Wyoming, Oregon and beyond, there will be:

•Hands-on medical simulation courses

•Workshops and lectures on medical and wilderness experts

•13 contact hours of training and education available

Dr. Michael Lauria will serve as the keynote speaker, sharing his rescuer’s tale of saving two critically injured sailors on board a commercial ship.
