Saluting Blue Mountain Hospital District’s volunteer medical personnel

JOHN DAY – Blue Mountain Hospital District Emergency Medical Service Director Rebekah Rand was recently in Elkhorn Media Group studios discussing the importance of our local ambulance volunteers.

Rand gave praise to the medical volunteers of Monument and Long Creek, whose own homes were in evacuation zones during the recent wildfire crisis:

“The level of dedication is just amazing, you know. The fires are close to their residences, their homes. The pager goes off, and they all responded. I mean, every single call. There was not a call in Monument and Long Creek that those people did not show up and provide patient care.”
