COLLEGE PLACE – The College Place City Council meets tonight (Tuesday) at 7 p.m. and will consider a resolution supporting the city’s federal grant application for the SR-125 corridor planning project.
The city has received citizen concerns pertaining to the perceived need for sound walls along certain sections of SR-125 just west of Commercial Drive and for additional pedestrian crossings along the corridor between Myra Road and Old Milton Highway.
The $100,000 grant would pay for a planning study. If the study finds that improvements are warranted, the city could apply for an implementation grant.
City staff said the Washington State Department of Transportation is supportive of such efforts and will be issuing a letter of support. Tonight’s meeting will be held in the council chambers at College Place City Hall and will be streamed live on the city’s YouTube channel.
