BAKER COUNTY — A Kansas man is in the Baker County Jail after being arrested for recklessly driving a stolen vehicle.
Oregon State Police responded to a report of reckless driving involving a stolen vehicle on Interstate 84 near Baker City on August 16.Troopers located the red sedan near milepost 306 and confirmed through dispatch that the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Kansas. The driver, identified as 36-year-old Roger Suksan Vongsakda of Dodge City, Kansas, was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Baker County Jail.
Vongsakda faces charges of unauthorized use of a vehicle, unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, reckless endangering, and reckless driving. The vehicle was towed to the Oregon State Police office in Baker City at the request of the owner.
Two women from Kansas are listed as victims in the case.
