HARNEY COUNTY-Fire weather watch is in effect for Northern Harney County until 11am today for abundant lightning.
Thunderstorms will be capable of producing frequent cloud to ground lightning and erratic, gusty outflow winds up to 45 mph. This combination will promote conditions conducive to new fire starts and rapid fire spread for new and existing fires.
There is also a Red Flag Warning that is in effect for southern Harney County until Friday at 9pm for scattered lighting.
A low-pressure system will bring scattered thunderstorms. Thunderstorm activity is expected to move out of the area by late Thursday morning, with a 2nd round of thunderstorms likely Thursday afternoon and evening. Moisture levels will still accompany any thunderstorm. Gusty and erratic outflow winds are also likely near any storm.
