WALLA WALLA – Walla Walla Public Schools said Wednesday it has been made aware that the Walla Walla County Prosecutor’s Office has decided not to prosecute former Walla Walla High School teacher Aaron Martin. This past April, Martin was placed on paid administrative leave following allegations of sexual misconduct made against him by an adult female community member.

Walla Walla Public Schools Human Resources Director Mindy Meyer said Wednesday the district applies a different set of standards and as a result issued Martin a probable cause for discharge in accordance with state law in June.

“Aaron Martin no longer works for Walla Walla Public Schools,” Meyer added.

As for why Martin will not be prosecuted, Walla Walla County Prosecuting Attorney Gabe Acosta explained, “We declined charges due to statute of limitations expiring.”
