2024 Primary Election results for Walla Walla County

WALLA WALLA COUNTY – Walla Walla County Fire District No. 4’s property tax levy for fire protection and emergency medical services appears to be passing 62.8 percent to 37.2 percent in early election results Tuesday evening.

However, in Burbank, it appears voters are saying no to Walla Walla County Fire District No. 5’s fire levy 56.03 percent (rejected) to 43.97 percent (approved) – by a difference of just 34 votes.

In the race for Walla Walla County Commissioner District 1, incumbent Jenny Mayberry, a Republican, seeks her second term that drew challenger Bertha Clayton, who states no party preference. According to the Walla Walla County Auditor, Clayton leads with 65.72 percent of the vote.

All three of the Republican lawmakers from Washington’s 16th Legislative District face challengers that are Democrats, however, Sen. Perry Dozier of Waitsburg, Rep. Mark Klicker and Rep. Skyler Rude, both of Walla Walla, all appear to be holding comfortable margins.

The Walla Walla County Auditor reports there are an estimated 6,000 ballots left to be counted. The next ballot count will be Friday at 5 p.m. The certification date is Tuesday, Aug. 20.
