Home, vehicles destroyed by fire

BENTON COUNTY, Washington – Fire destroyed a home outside of Richland city limits early Tuesday morning.

Benton County Fire District Fire District No. 1 responded to a report of a garage fire at a house on View Drive off of Valley View Road at 3:23 a.m. When crews arrived the garage was fully involved with fire and had spread to the residence.

One person was in the house when the fire started. Working smoke alarms alerted the occupant and they were able to safely evacuate.

The home is a total loss, along with several vehicles that were destroyed or damaged.

Richland Fire and Emergency Services, Kennewick Fire Department, and Benton County Fire District No. 4 assisted with the fire.
