Evacuations ordered for new Town Gulch Fire in Baker County

BAKER COUNTY – (Info from the Baker County Sheriff’s Office) Fire resources have been on scene throughout the day at the #TownGulchFire, located north of New Bridge.

Evacuations have been ordered for the following areas as of 8/5/24:

⚠Level 3 (GO NOW): south of Eagle Creek and Eagle Forks Campground, east of Shanghai Creek and Sparta Butte Road, north of Sparta Lane and the Oregon Department of Forestry Boundary to Barnard Creek Gulch, with the western boundary being the ridge top on the east side of Eagle Creek from the Oregon Department of Forestry Boundary to Little Eagle Creek.

⚠Level 2 (BE SET): south of U.S. Forest Service Road 7735 and 7739, east of Tackle Gulch and Gem Mine Road, north of Thorn Gulch and the power line, and west of Summit Creek Road up to Fizz Springs.

⚠Level 1 (BE READY): north of New Bridge surrounded by the U.S. Forest Service Road 70 and 77.

Law enforcement personnel notified residents of evacuation levels in the affected areas.
