City of Sumpter moving ahead with library & museum roof replacement

SUMPTER – (Release from the City of Sumpter) If you haven’t been paying attention, last Winter’s snow and warmer temperatures caused an extensive leak in the roof of the library. The damage was far reaching and illustrated the need for a complete roof replacement. Unfortunately, it’s difficult to make capital/maintenance improvements on a shoestring budget. The city set out on a fundraising campaign raising money from grants, Baker County, a city surplus sale as well as other sources.
As reported previously, we met our funding goal and awarded the job to Landmark Roofing in Baker City.
Be sure to walk by the Library and Museum to see the badly needed work being done!
