UCBC to consider ag burn ban

UMATILLA COUNTY – The Umatilla County Board of Commissioners is holding a special meeting Tuesday at 1 p.m. to consider implementing a burn ban.

The county already has a ban in effect for burn barrels and backyard burning. Agricultural burning is still allowed.

“The proposal is to have all burning prohibited in the county jurisdiction,” Umatilla County Counsel Doug Olsen explained in an email.

The meeting will be held in Room 121 of the Umatilla County Courthouse in Pendleton. The public is welcome to attend. The session will also be available via Google Meet.
