Oxbow to Hells Canyon Road closed due to fire

BAKER COUNTY/IDAHO – (Release from Idaho Power) Hells Canyon Road is closed to the public at Oxbow until further notice due to fire. Anyone needing emergency access to the area must check in with officials at the road closure site or Idaho Power’s Oxbow shop.

Additional closures are possible as the Oxbow Fire and Limepoint Fire continue to burn on the Idaho side of Hells Canyon Reservoir. See idahopower.com/whatsopen for updates.

Located 13 miles downstream of Brownlee Dam, Oxbow was completed in 1961. It was the second dam in the Hells Canyon Project and can generate up to 190,001 kilowatts of electricity.
