BAKER CITY – (Release by Baker School District) The Rocky Mountain Area Complex Incident Management Team has established an Incident Command Center at Baker High School to support the fires east of Baker. They are occupying classrooms, the BTI parking lot, and the Sports Complex (including parking). At this time, we expect the center to include approximately 150 individuals at BHS for the next two weeks.
Those needing to enter the high school for any other reason should use the front doors, and use of the Sports Complex should be avoided while the Incident Command Center is in place.
“Thank you for your patience as we pull together as a greater community to stop the spread of these wildfires,” Lindsey Bennington-McDowell, spokesperson for the district. “And thank you to those who are actively fighting the wildfires and serving those affected by them.”
