LA GRANDE — The demolition of the La Grande Annex Building has been completed, paving the way for a new parking lot for La Grande Middle School and the Wildcat Center. The project, handled by Mike Becker General Contractor, was finished without any damage to the surrounding buildings.
During the demolition, The La Grande School District says minimal disruption occurred as school traffic was low due to summer break. Although no road or sidewalk closures were initially planned, residents were advised to avoid M Avenue between 2nd and 4th streets due to increased truck traffic. Crews managed to keep the street open throughout the demolition, closing portions only when necessary.
